From Lecture Halls to International Podiums: Success Stories Without Borders Led by the University’s Ambassadors
Behind every door at the University lies more than a lecture hall; it is a space where determination is shaped, and success stories are crafted to reach beyond the campus and onto the global stage. Today, we open a chapter of pride to celebrate the achievements of the University’s ambassadors, students, and graduates, whose accomplishments demonstrate that excellence here is not merely an academic goal but a way of life.
From the arena of international commercial arbitration, Hussain Ghuloom, a graduate of the College of Law, emerged as a distinguished figure after receiving the “Golden Arbitrator” Award, becoming the first Bahraini to obtain this prestigious recognition. His achievement was not a momentary success but the result of sustained dedication and professionalism. He participated in the seventh edition of the competition, having served as an arbitrator in the fifth, sixth, and seventh editions, advancing to the final rounds with remarkable professionalism that reflects the strong legal training he received.
The reception of Hussain Ghuloom by HShaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented more than a personal recognition; it was also a tribute to a new generation of Bahraini legal professionals capable of competing confidently on the international stage. His journey reflects the spirit of law graduates who carry not only their degrees but also a commitment to excellence.
In another field of achievement, Zainab Ali Salman, a University student and member of the Bahraini National Paralympic Team, wrote an inspiring chapter by winning the silver medal in badminton at the Fifth West Asian Paralympic Games held in Muscat. Zainab, a student in the Bachelor of Interior Design, embodied the true balance between academic commitment and sporting ambition, demonstrating that determination and dedication can transform challenges into achievements.
Zainab was not the only student to raise the flag of the Kingdom and the University. Maryam Al Humaidi, a student in the Bachelor of Laws and also a member of the Bahraini National Paralympic Team, stood proudly on the podium after winning the bronze medal in the discus throw at the same championship. Despite the mobility challenge affecting her left hand, she transformed her determination into a powerful force for achievement, proving that excellence is not limited by circumstances and that perseverance can overcome every barrier.
In the field of diplomacy and public service, graduates of the College of Law have also continued to shine. Shaikha Al Amer was recognised for the fourth consecutive year as a Distinguished Employee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 2025, reflecting a sustained commitment to excellence. Meanwhile, Maryam Baslar was also included on the Ministry’s list of distinguished employees, demonstrating that the competence developed in the University’s classrooms continues to make a meaningful impact in national institutions.
Adding to the University’s record of student achievements, Zainab Al Wazir, a student from the Bachelor in Interior Design, secured third place in the Sustainathon for Sustainable Mobility 2025, organised by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Through her participation, she presented an innovative design concept that addresses challenges in the land transport sector, translating sustainability principles into practical solutions aligned with the Kingdom’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
These stories represent more than individual accomplishments; they reflect an educational philosophy that views every student as a future leader and every graduate as an ambassador of the University’s values. They carry the University’s name wherever they go, transforming knowledge into impact and ambition into achievement. Their journeys reaffirm that investing in people is the greatest investment and that the University is not merely a place of study, but a launchpad towards global excellence.
Together, these achievements paint a powerful picture: legal professionals shining on international stages, athletes raising the flag of the Kingdom, and creative minds shaping a more sustainable future. They are the ambassadors of the University, living proof that the institution is not only a centre of learning, but a catalyst for ambition, innovation, and national success.
