University Activities and Events in Engagement of the Community
As part of the University’s community partnership initiatives, the Community Engagement Office organised a range of activities and events to enhance the university’s role in its community engagement.
In detail, the office, in collaboration with the Al-Aker Charity Association, organised a campaign to provide and install solar-powered lamps to light up seven different locations in the Al-Aker village. The initiative involved the participation of academic and administrative staff, university students, and association members. Additionally, the office organised a campaign to distribute Iftar meals during the holy month of Ramadan, as well as a distribution of Ramadan food baskets to several families in the Hura area.
The office also arranged a visit to the Azhar Al-Harak Kindergarten, which is part of the Al-Harak International Centre, and organised a fun day for the children, celebrating Qarqao’an, a traditional event during Ramadan.
To conclude these activities, Dr Mohammad Alaa Al-Hammami, Director of the Community Engagement Office and Associate Professor in the Department of Management Information Systems at the College of Administrative Sciences, gave a lecture titled “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Its Role in Assisting the Visually Impaired”, organised by the Cultural Committee of the Blind Friendship Association.
