Admissions Requirements for PhD Programmes
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree, or their equivalents, from a university or college recognized in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
- The applicant must hold an academic degree in the same specialization as the PhD program or in one of the related fields, in accordance with the regulations set by the University’s Graduate Studies Committee and in line with the requirements of the specialization applied for.
- The cumulative grade point average (GPA) in the Master’s degree must be no less than Very Good or its equivalent. If the GPA is below this level, the application shall be referred to the Graduate Studies Committee to consider the possibility of granting conditional admission and to submit the appropriate recommendation to the University Council for final decision.
- Successful completion of the personal interview.
- For admission to the PhD program, the applicant must pass the English language placement test approved by the University, or submit a TOEFL certificate or its equivalent with a minimum score of 450. The certificate must have been obtained within a recent study period determined by the College. Applicants who hold an academic degree from programs taught in English are exempt from this requirement.
