
Promising Gulf Partnership Opens New Horizons for Students
In a step reflecting an ambitious vision to strengthen the future of higher education in the Gulf and expand regional opportunities for students, the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Middle East College in the Sultanate of Oman, launching a distinguished academic partnership focused on innovation, knowledge exchange, and cross-border educational collaboration that enriches students’ academic experience and enhances their competitiveness.
The agreement was signed during an official ceremony attended by His Excellency Mr Faisal bin Hareb bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Bahrain; Her Excellency Dr Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahrami, Secretary General of the Higher Education Councilو and His Excellency Professor Waheeb Al Khaja, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, alongside a number of academic leaders from both institutions, reflecting the strategic significance of this partnership.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the University by Professor Hatem Masri, the President of the University, while Dr Saleh Al Shaibi, Dean of Middle East College, signed on behalf of the Omani institution, marking the beginning of a new phase of institutional cooperation built on innovation, quality, and academic excellence.
His Excellency Professor Waheeb Al Khaja emphasised that this partnership embodies the University’s vision of building impactful academic alliances at the regional level, thereby enhancing educational outcomes and expanding research and development opportunities. He noted that integration among Gulf higher education institutions is a strategic strength that supports the advancement of knowledge and development across the region.
For his part, Professor Hatem Masri explained that the memorandum will create practical opportunities for students through academic and student exchange programmes, joint initiatives in entrepreneurship and professional development, and field training opportunities that enhance students’ readiness for the labour market and provide them with early international exposure.
Meanwhile, Dr Saleh Al Shaibi expressed his pride in this partnership, noting that it represents a new step towards fruitful academic collaboration that promotes an educational environment supportive of innovation and strengthens a culture of excellence and knowledge exchange.
The agreement reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to establishing an advanced model of academic partnership that contributes to the development of higher education in the Gulf and supports the preparation of qualified graduates capable of competing in an increasingly dynamic global environment.
