Advisory Board Meetings of the College of Engineering Programmes to Strengthen Collaboration Between Academia and Industry

In an essential step towards integrating academic education with the job market’s needs, the College of Engineering advisory boards held their first meetings for the 2024/2025 academic year. These gatherings brought together a group of experts and specialists from the engineering sector alongside the University academic members, with the aim of ensuring the curriculum aligns with the latest industry trends and job market requirements.

The meetings featured experts from various engineering programmes the University offers in collaboration with London South Bank University, through which students received dual award. These specialisations comprise BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering, BEng (Hons) Architecture Engineering, BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering.

Discussions during these meetings centred on the development of curricula to meet the fast-evolving demands of the job market, ensuring that students acquire the skills necessary to keep pace with rapid changes in engineering fields. These sessions highlight the College of Engineering’s ongoing devotion to improving the quality of its academic programmes, strengthening partnerships with industry, and equipping students to meet the demands of the modern engineering workforce.
