The University Wins First Place in the Fourth Edition of the “Wartel Al-Qur’an” Competition, with Outstanding Performances from Students and Alumni
The university successfully concluded the fourth edition of the “Wartel Al-Qur’an” competition for the best recitation and Tajweed of the Holy Qur’an at the level of Bahraini universities. The competition was held in the presence of His Eminence Sheikh Dr Ibrahim bin Rashid Al-Muraikhi, Judge and Deputy of the Court of Cassation, and Professor Dr Hatem Al-Masri, the University President.
A total of 26 students from seven private and public universities in Bahrain participated in the competition. The final results saw Abdullah Fouad from Applied Science University securing first place, while Amina Al-Khaldi from Arabian Gulf University won second place, and Muadh Mahmoud from the Royal College of Surgeons claimed third place.
The judging panel consisted of:
Professor Dr Muwafaq Al-Dulaimi, Head of the Support Division at the Royal Academy of Police
Sheikh Judge Walid Abdul Moneim Al-Mahmoud, from the Sharia Court of Appeal
Professor Dr Murad Al-Janabi, Professor of Islamic Creed and Thought at the Faculty of Law, Applied Science University
At the conclusion of the competition, the University President honoured the winners, participants, and judging panel, congratulating them on their dedication to mastering the recitation and Tajweed of the Holy Qur’an. He also commended them for reflecting the noble and tolerant image of Islam. Furthermore, he praised the enthusiasm and dedication of the Student Council members in its tenth term, acknowledging their hard work and commitment in organising this prestigious competition.
